This is a sensational, feather light silk chiffon Christian Lacroix strapless silk evening gown in a mixed pattern print. We have documented this dress from both an ad campaign and the runway for the Lacroix ready to wear Spring/Summer 2005 collection. 

This stunning dress has a dramatic thigh high slit and the abstract geometric swirl print is in shades of of purple, blue, green, chartreuse and black. The bodice is intricately decorated with ruffles, net, chartreuse soutache trim and black and chartreuse embroidery. The dress has beautiful layers of ruffles and the printed sheer chiffon outer fabric is layered over a solid layer of chartreuse silk chiffon with a blue pleated ruffle hem.

This dress is fully lined and closes with a hidden back zipper and inside bodice zipper with a hook and eye.

As with many of Lacroix's iconic pieces, the corset inspired bodice of this dress resembles 18th century dresses worn by royalty. Lacroix has always found ways to make historical elements both modern and playful.
